e-clips

I've had a poem and an essay published in the e-clips e-zine. You can currently find my humorous essay "Cupcake" there.

Thanks to a comment (that it probably took me way too long to find), I realized that the link to my poem was no longer valid since they don't archive past issues. Since they only asked for one-time rights, here it is for those who might be interested.

Morning Walk

A single car passes by.
In the distance
the rumble of a train is punctuated
by the blare of its horn.
The call of a small bird
is answered by the strident
caw of a crow.
The cold air stings my cheeks
and bites my exposed fingers.
My breath hangs in a faint mist.
With every second, the light increases,
as I look up to see the clouds
tinged with pink.
The flashing of an electronic sign
proclaims that it is 7:19
and 38ยบ.

I don't really write poetry, but when I found this particular market, I sent in a piece on a whim that I had written for a college class.
